Amazing early 50’s dress in what could be called a “Lucy Look” though it is more New Look with its tight waist and very full skirt. Lovely blue black taffeta has a slight color change sheen. Large double shawl neckline is accented with pink flower. Kimono ¾ length sleeves with double ruffles. Small shoulder pads. Inset midriff Side metal zipper. Full skirt attaches with small box pleats and has a muslin underskirt for form. Includes belt.
Condition: Dress has a rip under the left arm by zipper that has been repaired. The flower needs to be worn because of the years it has created small holes where it is located on collar. There are also small dark stains scattered on skirt that are not noticeable in any light BUT are there. Price of course reflects flaws which makes this wonderful dress quite affordable.
It is always best to measure an item that fits you well and compare. I measure from side to side and then double for bust, waist and hips (7 inches down from waistline). Bodice length and total length are from top of shoulder down. Please email me if you have any questions.
